Description

Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health

Location: Gallatin, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Facility Overview

Behavioral Health Unit with 12 beds
Level III Trauma Center
Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 6 patients
Electronic Health Record system: Meditech
Weekend hours: Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
Weekly guaranteed hours: 36
Float requirement: May float to Medical-Surgical unit if needed

Job Responsibilities & Environment

Provide psychiatric nursing care on the Behavioral Health unit
Common patient diagnoses include Alzheimer’s, behavioral disturbances, failure to thrive, depression, and suicidal ideation
Team-oriented work environment

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health nursing experience, with experience within the last year
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in geriatric psychiatric nursing preferred
Medical floor experience preferred

Additional Information

Orientation occurs weekly on Mondays
Dress code: Scrubs of any color allowed
No call requirements for this position

Notes

Candidates must be located 60 miles or more from the facility to qualify as travel staff
Prior travel experience is not specified as required
