Description
Histotechnologist responsibilities:
Accurately fixes, embeds, cuts and stains tissue for Pathologist interpretation and diagnosis.
Performs computer accessioning and proper specimen labeling, insuring specimen integrity.
Assists Pathology Residents and Pathologists as needed in Frozen Section & Gross Room as needed.
Performs routine Histology procedures necessary to prepare slides for examination by Pathologists, including but not limited to embedding, cutting, mounting, and staining. Performs special stains in accordance to quality standard
Other duties as needed
Required:
1 yr minimum experience as a histotechnologist
Preferred:
HTL (ASCP)
3-5 years + experience
