Description
- Position: Clinical Laboratory Scientist
- Facility: Dignity Health - Memorial Hospital
- Location: 420 34th St, Bakersfield, CA 93301
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (with possible extension)
- Shift: (4x10) Day Shift (8:00 am – 5:00 pm)
- hours: 40 hours per week
Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) – Laboratory Department
Unit Details
- Department: Laboratory
- Shift: 8-hour shifts will be considered
Required Certifications & Licensure
- Current BLS Certification
- Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License (CDPH) – Required
Required Experience
Candidates should have recent experience in:
- Clinical Chemistry
- Hematology
- Urinalysis
- Coagulation Testing
- Basic Microbiology/Serology
Blood Bank experience is not required.
Laboratory Equipment Experience
Experience with the following laboratory platforms is preferred:
- Abbott Architect
- Stago
- GEM 500
- Beckman Coulter DxH
- Beckman Coulter DxU Iris
- BD BACTEC FX
- Cepheid
- BioFire
Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Cerner

The ideal candidate will possess a strong generalist laboratory background with experience across multiple disciplines, excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment while maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient care.
