Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) – Travel Contract
📍 Oceanside, CA
💰 Up to $2,500 Weekly Gross
🕒 13-Week Contract | 40 Hours/Week | Mid Shift
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) for a 13-week travel assignment in Oceanside, California. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative, supportive laboratory team that prides itself on flexibility, teamwork, and providing exceptional patient care.
Assignment Details
- Start Date: ASAP
- 13-Week Contract
- 40 Hours Per Week
- Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
- Schedule: Monday–Friday with every other weekend required
- No On-Call Requirement
- Float as needed
Compensation
- Gross Weekly Pay: Up to $2,500
Requirements
- Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) Generalist License (License number must begin with "MTA")
- Strong Blood Bank experience required
- Travel experience preferred but not required
- GQR Proven Performers highly preferred
- COVID vaccine exemptions accepted
Department Highlights
This role supports both the Emergency Department and inpatient population in a busy acute-care environment.
- Average ED Census: 130–150 patients
- Average Inpatient Census: 140–150 patients
- General Blood Bank environment
- Not a trauma center
- Positive and highly supportive team culture
- Friendly, flexible staff who work collaboratively and support one another
Blood Bank Responsibilities - Required
- Perform antibody screens using Immucor Echo
- Issue blood products, including emergency release blood
- Antibody identification when time and patient needs allow
- Support routine blood bank operations in a fast-paced hospital setting
Laboratory Equipment
Experience with the following equipment is preferred:
- Cerner PathNet LIS
- Sysmex XN-3100 (Hematology)
- Stago Compact Max (Coagulation)
- Beckman DxU800 (Urinalysis)
- Abbott Alinity ci (Chemistry)
- Siemens Rapid Point 500 (Blood Gas)
- Immucor Echo (Blood Bank)
- Cepheid GeneXpert (Microbiology)
