Cardiovascular Cath Lab

Location

• Bricktown, New Jersey

Job Summary

• Assist physicians with cardiac catheterization and related interventional procedures including angioplasty, atherectomy, valvuloplasty, pulmonary angiograms, and insertion of intra-aortic balloon pumps and stents.
• Prepare sterile trays and organize equipment for procedures.
• Prepare patients by attaching EKG leads, performing betadine scrubs, and draping according to protocol.
• Calibrate and test transducers for accurate pressure readings.
• Operate power injector and digital cine technologies for image acquisition and storage.
• Assist in emergency supportive measures to maintain patient well-being.
• Assist with removal of procedural sheaths and insertion of vascular closure devices.
• Maintain inventory control and assist with maintenance and calibration of diagnostic equipment.
• Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, adapting to their specific needs (age, culture, language, sensory impairments).
• Physical requirements include lifting at least 40 lbs, pushing/pulling 100 lbs, and standing for a minimum of 4 hours per day.

Schedule

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 6:30 PM (10-hour shifts)
• 40 hours per week (4x10 schedule)
• Weekend and holiday work required (including 1 summer and 1 winter holiday)
• On-call required (7 to 10 shifts per month)
• No float requirement

Required Qualifications

• Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New Jersey
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cath Lab Technologist, including experience within the last year
• ARRT certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• High school diploma or equivalent
