Description
EEG Technologist – Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)s
Location: Dallas, TX
Schedule: 3x12-Hour Shifts (Nights)
Duration:13 Weeks
Weekend Requirement: Rotating Weekends
On-Call: None
Required Qualifications
- Registered EEG Technologist (R. EEG T.) credential through ABRET
- Minimum of 3 years of EEG experience
- Experience performing:
- Routine EEGs
- STAT EEGs
- Continuous Video EEG Monitoring
- Proficient with:
- Collodion and paste electrode application methods
- International 10–20 Electrode Measurement System
- Experience working with:
- Neonates
- Pediatric patients
- Adult patients
- Strong patient communication and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience monitoring continuous video EEG studies
- Ability to recognize abnormal EEG waveforms and promptly escalate findings to physicians
- Experience working with Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) patients
- Experience monitoring Stereo EEG (sEEG) studies
- Critical care EEG experience
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inpatient EEG procedures at the bedside
- Conduct routine, STAT, and continuous video EEG studies
- Monitor EEG recordings for abnormal activity and communicate urgent findings
- Educate patients and families regarding EEG procedures and expectations
- Ensure accurate electrode placement using the International 10–20 System
- Maintain quality EEG recordings and documentation
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
Patient Population
Candidates must be comfortable working with patients across all age groups, including:
- Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
- Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
- Children's Hospital Services
- Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT)
- Neurovascular Intensive Care Unit (NVICU)
- Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
- General Adult Inpatient Populations
