Job Summary

Seeking an adaptable, clinically sharp Ambulatory Clinic RN to deliver comprehensive nursing care to incarcerated individuals. Key Responsibilities

  • Clinic Intake & Sick Call Triage: Conduct rapid, accurate physical and mental health assessments for patients presenting during designated sick call hours, prioritizing interventions based on clinical urgency.
  • Vascular Access & Diagnostic Sampling: Independently execute precise IV insertions and perform routine and emergent phlebotomy collections for laboratory diagnostic processing.
  • Acute & Chronic Care Delivery: Administer prescribed oral, topical, and injection medications; manage wound care dressings; and monitor patients tracking under specialized chronic disease protocols (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, infectious diseases).
  • Emergency Medical Response: Serve as an on-scene first responder for medical emergencies within the clinic perimeter, providing immediate basic life support and stabilization prior to secondary medical transport.
  • Impeccable Security Documentation: Maintain thorough electronic health records (EHR) while strictly following administrative rules regarding safety counts, tool tracking, and patient escort guidelines.

  • Certifications: Current AHA BLS required. AHA ACLS is required for Queens-based correctional mapping (applicable here due to precinct layout).
  • Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited nursing program minimum.
