Job Overview:
 

We are seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist to join a leading Level I Trauma Center in Akron, Ohio. This is a fast-paced adult acute care environment caring for critically ill patients requiring advanced respiratory support and emergency intervention.
 

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) preferred
• Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) accepted if Registry Eligible with strong acute care experience
• Active Respiratory Therapy license
• BLS certification required
• Experience working in adult acute care and critical care settings
• Must be comfortable responding to emergencies and participating in code situations

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and verify physician orders for respiratory treatments
• Administer respiratory therapies, medications, and medical gases
• Monitor patient response and document assessments and treatments accurately
• Operate and manage ventilators, non-invasive ventilation devices, and respiratory equipment
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and assist with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams
• Educate patients and families regarding respiratory treatments and therapies
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards

Equipment Experience Preferred:

• PB 980 Ventilator
• PB 840 Ventilator
• V60 Non-Invasive Ventilator
• Epoc Handheld Blood Gas Analyzer
• ParaPac Plus Transport Ventilator

Additional Information

• Adult patient population only
• Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Maximum 5 days RTO accepted
• Strong critical care and ventilator management skills highly desired
