Description

Schedule:

Day Shift, Monday–Friday
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech, language, communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
Perform inpatient swallowing assessments and dysphagia management.
Conduct and interpret Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient-centered treatment plans.
Provide speech therapy services in both acute care and pediatric outpatient settings as needed.
Participate in stroke evaluations when speech coverage is unavailable.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility standards.

Call Requirements

Limited call coverage may be required during periods without speech coverage (approximately two weeks annually).
Call responsibilities are primarily for stroke evaluations only.
Full-time speech therapists typically provide routine coverage; call volume is extremely low (only one stroke-related call has been required in the past five years).

Required Qualifications

Active Speech Language Pathologist license in the State of Kentucky.
Minimum 1 year of acute care experience.
Experience with inpatient swallowing evaluations and dysphagia management.
Experience performing Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies.
Pediatric outpatient experience required.
Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
