CVOR RN Job Breakdown

Shift: As assigned (Call Required)
Weekly Hours: Typically 36–40 hrs + potential overtime
Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
Parking: Free On-Site

🩺 Core Responsibilities

• Scrubbing Cardiac Cases: ~20–24 hrs/week
  Primary responsibility. Scrubbing complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures.
• Circulating Surgical Cases: ~10–12 hrs/week
  Managing OR workflow, patient safety, documentation, and surgical support.
• Advanced Cardiac Procedures: ~6–8 hrs/week
  CABG (primary & redo), valve replacements, TAVR, ECMO, VAD, aortic aneurysm repairs, thoracic and vascular surgeries.
• Research & Specialty Protocols: ~2–3 hrs/week
  Supporting ongoing cardiac research protocols and specialty procedures.

📌 Key Requirements

• 3–5 years recent CVOR experience
• MUST Scrub and Circulate
• Primarily a Scrub role
• BLS (AHA) required
• CNOR preferred
• Adult cardiac experience required
• Pediatric cardiac experience a plus
• Strong critical thinking and multitasking abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Thoracic Surgery
• Vascular Surgery

📞 Call & Scheduling

• Call required
• Overtime may be required
• Must work:
  • One Summer Holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, or Labor Day)
  • One Winter Holiday (Thanksgiving or Christmas)
• Any requested time off must be added to the end of the contract to ensure 13 full working weeks
