Description
Critical Care Float Pool
COVID-19 vaccination is recommended but not required. Flu vaccination will be required October through April. Flu exemption applications must be received and approved by Phoenix Children’s prior to starting. Anyone not vaccinated for either Flu or COVID-19 will be required to sign Declination & Masking Protocol agreements and must mask during the full respiratory virus season.
Critical Care Float Pool 2026 TRN Contracts: • Phoenix Children’s is free standing children’s hospital ranked in multiple specialties by US World News and Report • We care for children of all ages from premature neonates to adults with pediatric care needs • Focus of this position is in our 3 critical care areas at our Thomas Campus and our multispecialty unit (MOSU) at our Arrowhead Campus o PICU (level 1 trauma center, liver and kidney transplants, etc. ) o CVICU (cardiac transplants, defects, etc.) o NICU (level IV NICU) • Expectations o Float daily based on need to our PICU, CVICU, and NICU at Thomas & MOSU at Arrowhead campus o May cross division float to acute care if needed o Will not float to ED or Inpatient Psychiatry o First to float within shift if needs adjust o Can be cancelled based on contract o Every other weekend o Minimum of 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays every 6-week schedule o Will be balanced into to our schedules • Orientation & Onboarding o LMS to be completed on own time by due dates o Welcome letter will be sent the week prior with further information, where to be, and your schedule - usually the Thurs or Fri prior o If any onboarding requirements are not validated by the Thursday prior to start, your start date may be pushed back by 2 weeks o 12 panel drug screen with Fentanyl prior to start o Flu Vaccine prior to start o BLS, PALs, NRP prior to start and must maintain throughout contract
This assignment will require floating to between CVICU, NICU, and PICU
Experience: • 2 years’ experience as an RN in pediatric critical care. • Level III or IV NICU hospital experience preferred. • Children’s hospital experience preferred.
Education Requirements: • Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing.
