🏥 Stepdown/Telemetry RN (IVCU) – Job Breakdown

Unit: Interventional Care Unit (IVCU)
Location: Portsmouth, NH
Shift: 3x12 Nights/Days (36 hrs/week)
Charting: Meditech Expanse
Patient Ratio: 1:4

📅 Weekly Hours

• 3 shifts/week
• 12-hour shifts
• 36 guaranteed hours/week
• Every other weekend required

🩺 Core Responsibilities

Direct Patient Care: ~20–22 hrs/week

• Care for Stepdown/Telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac status and respond to changes

Cardiac & Post-Procedure Care: ~6–8 hrs/week

• STEMI/NSTEMI patients
• Post-cardiac cath, PCI, radial/groin access recovery
• Pacemaker patients
• CHF and cardiac management

Telemetry Monitoring: ~3–4 hrs/week

• Rhythm interpretation
• Cardiac monitoring and intervention

Respiratory & Specialty Care: ~2–3 hrs/week

• BiPAP and High-Flow Oxygen
• Chest tubes
• Trach patients
• Thoracentesis and Pericardiocentesis recovery

Documentation & Care Coordination: ~2–3 hrs/week

• Meditech Expanse charting
• Bedside handoff and interdisciplinary communication

📌 Required Qualifications

• 2+ Years Hospital Experience
• Active VA License or Compact License at Submission
• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• Strong Telemetry/Stepdown experience
