🏥 ICU RN – Job Breakdown

Shift: Night 3x12s (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Weekly Hours: 36 hrs/week
Unit: ICU (with floating required)
Charting: Epic
Patient Ratio: 1:2 in ICU

📅 Weekly Hours Breakdown

Critical Care Patient Management: ~22–24 hrs/week

• Care for critically ill ICU patients
• Continuous assessment, monitoring, and interventions
• Ventilator management and critical care support

Medication & Drip Management: ~4–5 hrs/week

• Administration of ICU medications and infusions
• ACLS protocols and emergency interventions

Monitoring & Emergency Response: ~3–4 hrs/week

• Hemodynamic monitoring
• Rapid response and code situations
• Neurological assessments

Documentation & Care Coordination: ~3–4 hrs/week

• Epic charting
• Collaboration with physicians, RT, and interdisciplinary teams

Patient/Family Education: ~1–2 hrs/week

• Care plan updates and discharge preparation when applicable

• Ventilator Management
• Critical Care Assessment
• ACLS Interventions
• NIH Stroke Assessment
• Care of Adult ICU Patients
• Comfortable caring for occasional Pediatric Patients
• Ability to float and adapt to different patient populations

📌 Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS
• PALS

📌 License Requirements

• Active NC RN License or Compact License at submission

🔄 Floating Requirements

Must be willing to float based on census and staffing needs:

• IMCU (Intermediate Care Unit)
• Medical-Surgical Units

Patient ratios may vary when floating.

📋 Scheduling Requirements

• 3x12 Nights (7 PM–7 AM)
• 2 weekends per month required
• ASAP start
• All RTO must be included at submission
