Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide high-quality nursing care in a clinical and/or long-term care setting. The LPN will work under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs), physicians, and other healthcare professionals to deliver patient-centered care, monitor patient conditions, administer treatments, and support daily nursing operations.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in accordance with physician orders, nursing standards, and facility policies.
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, vital signs, symptoms, and responses to treatment.
  • Administer prescribed medications, injections, treatments, and therapeutic interventions within scope of practice.
  • Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely patient records and nursing documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, therapists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Educate patients and families regarding medications, treatments, disease processes, and discharge instructions.
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse or physician.
  • Assist with wound care, specimen collection, catheter care, and other clinical procedures as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Respond appropriately to emergency situations and provide basic life support as required.
  • Support patient comfort, dignity, and emotional well-being throughout the care process.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and continuing education activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
  • Current and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of recent LPN experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills.
  • Knowledge of nursing principles, medication administration, and patient safety standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in acute care, long-term care, rehabilitation, skilled nursing, clinic, or outpatient settings.
  • IV therapy certification (if required by state regulations and facility policy).
  • Previous travel nursing or contract assignment experience.
  • Experience with electronic health record documentation systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift patients or equipment as necessary.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds with assistance when required.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to perform clinical procedures and operate medical equipment.
  • Ability to work extended shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
