Description

Position: CVICU RN – Days (36 Hours/Week; Every Other Weekend)
Start Date: 07/13/2026
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: 3x12 Days (07:30 AM – 8:00 PM)

Requirements

Minimum 1 year CVICU experience required
First-time travelers considered with 2+ years of extensive CVICU/Open Heart experience
Active Maryland RN License
BLS Certification
ACLS Certification

Unit Information

Patient Population: Adult/Geriatric
Average Daily Census: 6 patients
Unit Size: 8 beds
Nurse-to-Patient Ratios:
- CVICU/CCRU: 1:2
- Immediate post-op cardiac surgery: 1:1 for first 12 hours
- IMC (when floated): 1:3

Scheduling Requirements

Every other weekend required
Holidays required as scheduled
Floating required within specialty, including:
- IMC
- Lower-acuity units as needed
No scheduled on-call shifts required

Note: Strong open-heart recovery experience is highly preferred due to the unit's focus on immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients.
