Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Float Pool Med Surg/Telemetry RN to provide care across multiple inpatient units within a 371-bed acute care hospital. This position is ideal for adaptable nurses who enjoy working with diverse patient populations and are comfortable floating throughout the facility.

The Float Pool RN will support up to 8 different units, providing high-quality patient care while utilizing strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring skills.

Float Units

Nurses must be willing to float between:

• Davenport 5
• Davenport 7
• Davenport 8
• Davenport 9
• Emergency Department (ED)
• PH6/PH7
• Pingree 4
• Overflow Unit

Requirements

• Active Massachusetts RN License
• AHA BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care hospital experience in one facility
• Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience
• Strong Med Surg and Telemetry background required

Required Skills

• Cardiac monitoring
• Telemetry strip interpretation
• Measuring telemetry intervals
• Telemetry interpretation every 4 hours
• Cardiac drip administration and monitoring
• TR Band management
• Acute care patient assessment and intervention
• EPIC charting experience preferred

Patient Population

• Medical-Surgical patients
• Telemetry patients
• ED hold/boarder patients
• Medication nurse coverage within acute behavioral health units
• ICU transfer-ready patients (non-vented)

Nurse-to-Patient Ratios

• Days/Evenings: Up to 5:1
• Nights: Up to 6:1
