Assignment Details

• Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Schedule: 3x12-Hour Shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Weekly
• Contract Length: 8 Weeks

Unit Overview

Join a busy, high-acuity ICU within a 174-bed acute care hospital. This unit primarily manages critically ill medical patients with occasional surgical admissions, including GI and carotid surgery patients. The facility also operates a highly active 24/7 Cardiac Cath Lab, creating frequent opportunities to care for post-cardiac intervention patients.

• Multi-System Organ Failure
• Post Cardiac Catheterization Patients
• Post Cardiac Intervention Patients
• GI Surgical Patients
• Carotid Surgery Patients
• Acute & Chronic Renal Failure
• Respiratory Failure Patients

Requirements

• Active RN License
• BLS (BCLS) Certification
• ACLS Certification
• Minimum 2 Years of Recent ICU Experience
• NIH Certification Preferred
• First-Time Travelers Accepted

Nurse-to-Patient Ratio

• ICU Ratio: 1:2

Critical Care Procedures

• Central Line Care & Management

• Continuous IV Sedation Management
• IV Insulin Protocols

Respiratory Care

• Ventilator Management
• Care of Mechanically Ventilated Patients
• BiPAP & CPAP Management
• High-Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)
• ABG Interpretation
• Airway Suctioning

Additional Skills

• Infection Prevention & Isolation Precautions

Scheduling & Expectations

• Weekend rotation required
• Holiday requirement: Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Floating may be required within skill set to:
  • Acute Admission Unit (AAU)
  • Medical-Surgical Units
• Block scheduling may be discussed during interview
• No local candidates accepted
