Director of Pulmonary Services
Location: Cambridge Health Alliance – Cambridge, Everett & Somerville Campuses, MA
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday
- 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM
Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Director of Pulmonary Services to lead and manage Respiratory Care, Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT), Blood Gas Lab, Sleep Lab, and Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation departments across multiple hospital campuses. This leadership role is responsible for strategic planning, operations management, regulatory compliance, quality improvement initiatives, budget oversight, and staff development while ensuring the highest standards of patient care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Respiratory Care
- Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Current Massachusetts Respiratory License
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- NRP preferred
- Strong background in Acute Care, Critical Care, Pulmonary Function Testing, Blood Gas Accreditation, Sleep Lab/Polysomnography, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, and EEG services
- Neonatal Respiratory Care experience preferred
- Ability to travel between Cambridge, Everett, and Somerville campuses as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Direct and oversee Respiratory Care, PFT Lab, Blood Gas Lab, Sleep Lab, and Cardiopulmonary Rehab services
- Manage approximately 32 FTEs, including staffing, performance management, and professional development
- Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and quality initiatives
- Ensure compliance with JCAHO, CAP, OSHA, CDC, DPH, and other regulatory standards
- Oversee departmental budgets, resource utilization, and operational efficiency
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and service excellence
- Drive performance improvement, patient safety, and customer satisfaction initiatives

A proven healthcare leader with strong clinical expertise in cardiopulmonary services, exceptional organizational and leadership skills, and experience managing multi-disciplinary teams in an acute care hospital setting.
