Role & Clinical Overview:

We are seeking an adaptable and skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to support a comprehensive respiratory care unit. This role spans a diverse clinical mix from adult critical care and emergency settings to pediatric and neonatal populations.

Key Responsibilities & Scope

• Clinical Settings: Deliver critical therapies across Adult Critical Care, the Emergency Department, Pediatric Critical Care, NICU, and patient transports.
• Diagnoses Managed: Manage care for patients experiencing CHF, COPD, Pneumonia, Respiratory Failure, and acute respiratory infections.
• Special Procedures: Perform Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) sampling and interpretation, mechanical ventilator management, patient assessments, medication administration (MDIs, aerosol setups), and pulmonary hygiene.
• Clinical Equipment: Gain hands-on exposure to advanced cardiopulmonary technology, including:
  • Ventilators: Hamilton, Servo-U, NKV330, and V60.
  • Therapy/NIV: Nihon Kohden Noninvasive vents, Airvo humidification/high-flow, and Volara OLE therapy.
  • Nebulizers: Aerogen and BAN nebulizers.

Position Requirements

Licensure & Certifications

• State Licensure: Active New York State Respiratory Therapist license is required in hand at the time of submission (no exceptions).
• Credentialing: Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through the NBRC.
• Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is highly preferred.

Experience & Skills

• Minimum Experience: 1 year of clinical experience as an RRT.
• First-Time Travelers: Accepted and welcome.
• Charting System: Epic proficiency is a hard requirement; candidates must be able to navigate and document independently.
