Assignment Details
- Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist (Allied)
- Term: 10-Week Contract
- Dates: 06/29/2026 – 09/12/2026
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights
- Guaranteed Hours: 24 hours weekly (guaranteed base, with 36 hours weekly during initial vacation coverage)
- On-Call: No
Highly Critical Schedule Structure
Please ensure candidates are 100% agreeable to this specific scheduling arrangement prior to submission:
- Phase 1 (Through 07/24/2026): Work 36 hours per week to cover departmental vacations on the following specific dates: 7/5, 7/6, 7/10, 7/12, 7/13, 7/17, 7/19, 7/20, 7/24.
- Phase 2 (Starting 07/31/2026): Transition to the permanent 24 hours per week schedule for the remainder of the contract.
- Days of the Week: Scheduled shifts will fall across Sunday, Monday, Friday, and Saturday.
Role & Clinical Overview
The selected technologist will perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations for both inpatient and outpatient settings within the Radiology department.
Clinical Scope & Competencies
- Patient Population: All age groups (neonates to geriatrics).
- General & Small Parts: High proficiency in general ultrasound and small parts imaging.
- Vascular: Competence in upper and lower extremity venous vascular scans.
- OB/GYN: Experience in performing detailed fetal surveys across 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters.
- Pediatric Specialty: Ability to confidently scan pediatric hips, spine, head, pylorus, and assess for intussusception.
- Floating Requirement: Must be willing and agreeable to float across three regional campuses (Cambridge, Somerville, and Everett) to support clinical needs.
Position Requirements
Licensure & Certifications
- Primary Credential: Active ARDMS RDMS registration is required at the time of submission.
- Life Support: Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) is required at submission.
Experience & Background
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of recent experience as an Ultrasound Technologist.
- EMR System: Prior hands-on experience with EPIC is highly preferred.
- Immunization: Flu vaccination is required during the active season.
