Description
Department: Float Pool
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Start Date: 07/27/2026
End Date: 10/24/2026
Schedule:
• 3x12-Hour Shifts
• 36 Hours Per Week
• Full-Time
• Weekends and Holidays Required
Requirements:
• Minimum 1 Year of RN Experience
• Level I Trauma Experience Required
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) Required
• BSN Preferred
• Current Oklahoma RN License or Compact RN License
• BLS (AHA) Required
• PALS (AHA) Required
Clinical Experience Required:
• Trach Care
• High-Flow Oxygen Therapy
• Infusion Therapy
• Strong Pediatric Acute Care Experience
• First-Line Clinical Skills
• Ability to Float Throughout Children's Hospital
Float Pool Coverage Includes:
• PICU (34 Beds)
• CICU (25 Beds)
• NICU (112 Beds) – Low-Acuity/Feeder-Grower Assignments Only
• Pediatric Surgical Unit
• Behavioral Health
• Medical Specialty Units (GI, Neuro, Respiratory)
• Hematology/Oncology
• Step-Down Unit
• Cardiac Pediatrics
Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care to pediatric patients with a wide range of medical conditions
• Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and blood products as prescribed
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Deliver safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care
Qualifications:
• Strong pediatric assessment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to multiple patient populations and units
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Experience working in fast-paced acute care environments
• Ability to provide culturally competent care
