Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures while delivering exceptional patient care. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will work closely with radiologists and healthcare teams to obtain high-quality diagnostic images, administer radiopharmaceuticals, and ensure patient safety throughout the imaging process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and advanced Nuclear Medicine procedures in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols.
- Prepare, administer, and document radiopharmaceuticals and related medications.
- Verify patient identity, informed consent, and pregnancy status when applicable.
- Assess patient history, laboratory results, and contraindications prior to procedures.
- Monitor and support patients throughout the imaging process.
- Perform quality control procedures and maintain imaging equipment.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety standards and infection control policies.
- Maintain accurate documentation and imaging records using RIS and PACS systems.
- Manage inventory and maintain adequate supplies for daily operations.
- Provide compassionate, age-appropriate care to patients from pediatric through adult populations.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Radiology or Nuclear Medicine Technology Program.
- Active Texas Medical Board (CMRT) Certification.
- Current CNMT (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) certification ORĀ ARRT (N) certification.
- Minimum 3 years of Radiology or Nuclear Medicine experience.
- Knowledge of Nuclear Medicine procedures, radiation safety, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Experience with IV starts and quality control procedures.
- Current BLS certification preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pediatric Nuclear Medicine experience preferred but not required.
- Experience with RIS, PACS, and Nuclear Medicine imaging equipment.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
