ICU RN – Quick Recruiter Snapshot

Specialty: ICU RN
Unit Size: 18 Beds
Ratios: 1:2 (occasionally 1:3 for overflow/PCU downgrade patients)

Required Qualifications

Active RN License
BLS & ACLS
Minimum 2 years Critical Care/ICU experience
Previous Travel Experience Required
Strong experience with:
- Ventilator management
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Critical care drips
- Sepsis, Acute MI, Renal patients
Must be comfortable titrating drips

Preferred Skills/Certifications

CRRT
IABP
Impella
PALS
NIHSS
TNCC

Patient Population

Sepsis
Acute MI
Stroke/TIA
Seizures
ARDS
Post-vascular procedures
Renal patients
Ventilator-dependent patients
Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric patients

Critical Care Skills Required

Vasopressor and sedation drips
Mechanical ventilation (ETT & Trach)
BiPAP/CPAP
Telemetry interpretation
Hemodynamic monitoring

Common Drips

Levophed
Cardizem
Amiodarone
Heparin
Insulin

Scheduling

Days: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
Block scheduling available (especially nights)
Every other weekend
Holiday rotation required

Floating

Stepdown Unit
Med-Surg/Telemetry (rare)
ICU/Stepdown patients boarded in ED
If floated to Med-Surg, may take a full assignment of 5–6 patients

Unit Support

Charge Nurse primarily without assignment
House Supervisor 24/7
Hospitalist 24/7
RT available 24/7
