🏥 About the Opportunity

Join a leading tertiary care hospital (528 beds) in Rochester, NY, as a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown RN. This fast-paced Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) provides high-acuity, evidence-based care to adult and geriatric patients requiring close monitoring and advanced interventions.

You’ll work alongside a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary team caring for patients transitioning from ICU, ED, PACU, and Med-Surg units.

📅 Assignment Details

• Start Date: July 7, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Nights – 4x12s (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Patient Ratio:
  • Nights: 1:4 (typical)
  • Must be comfortable up to 1:5–1:7 when needed
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Floating: Yes – to ICU or Med-Surg as needed
• Orientation: 24 hours

💼 Key Responsibilities

• Provide advanced nursing care in a PCU/Stepdown setting with continuous telemetry monitoring
• Monitor and manage patients requiring cardiac, respiratory, and hemodynamic support
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and respond to emergencies
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Care for patients with BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ventilators, chest tubes, arterial lines, and central lines
• Perform IV therapy, blood product administration, and phlebotomy
• Manage patients with pulmonary conditions, neurological disorders, renal failure, and endocrine imbalances
• Collaborate with rapid response teams and interdisciplinary support services
• Accurately document patient care using Epic EMR

✅ Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years RN experience (PCU/Stepdown preferred)
• Travel Experience: Required (first-time travelers may be considered per facility guidelines)
• License:Active NY RN License (must be in hand – no exceptions)
• Certifications:
  • BLS (Required)
  • ACLS (Required)
  • NIHSS (Required – must be valid at submission)
• Charting: Epic experience required

• Strong telemetry and cardiac monitoring experience
• Dysrhythmia interpretation & management
• Experience with titrated drips and critical care equipment
• Previous charge experience (preferred)
• Ability to thrive in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
