Travel Pharmacy Technician
📍 Location
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician with a strong managed care background to support pharmacy operations, prior authorizations, claims processing, and member services. This role works closely with pharmacists, physicians, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and health plan members to ensure efficient medication management and pharmacy benefit administration.
The ideal candidate will have prior experience handling pharmacy prior authorizations, audits, claims review, and health plan operations while delivering exceptional customer service.
Required Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician License (OR Pharm Tech License Required)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Required – submissions without advanced Excel experience will not be considered)
- Minimum 2 years of pharmacy technician experience in a managed care environment
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial, Individual, and ASO lines of business
- Strong understanding of pharmacy benefits and claims processing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience with pharmacy prior authorizations
- Health plan or PBM experience
- Knowledge of pharmacy billing and reimbursement processes
- Experience supporting regulatory audits and compliance reviews
Key Responsibilities
- Process and coordinate pharmacy prior authorizations independently
- Review member eligibility and pharmacy benefit information
- Investigate and resolve pharmacy claims issues
- Communicate with members, pharmacies, providers, and healthcare teams
- Support medication utilization management initiatives
- Research and resolve pended claims and authorization requests
- Maintain accurate documentation and data entry within pharmacy systems
- Audit claims, correspondence, and documentation for quality assurance
- Assist with pharmacy benefit administration and regulatory compliance
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives
