Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room (ER)

Position Summary
 

The Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room provides comprehensive nursing care to patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening conditions in a fast-paced emergency department. The ER RN is responsible for rapid patient assessment, triage, stabilization, treatment, and ongoing monitoring while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care based on acuity levels.
• Conduct triage according to established emergency department protocols.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and changes in status.
• Assist with emergency procedures, trauma resuscitations, and code situations.
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including cardiac monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and defibrillators.
• Provide care for a wide range of patient populations, including medical, surgical, trauma, pediatric, and geriatric patients.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
