Cytotechnologist – White Plains, NY

Overview

A leading healthcare facility in White Plains, NY is seeking an experienced Cytotechnologist to join their diagnostic laboratory team. This role supports high‑volume cytology screening and preparation, requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with both gynecological and non‑gynecological specimens.

Position Responsibilities

• Screen and evaluate gynecological, non‑gynecological, and fine needle aspiration (FNA) specimens
• Apply the Bethesda System for accurate and standardized cytology reporting
• Perform cytology preparation work for GYN and Non‑GYN specimens (preferred)
• Utilize ThinPrep technology for specimen processing and evaluation
• Document findings clearly and collaborate with pathologists for case review
• Maintain quality assurance standards and adhere to laboratory safety protocols
• Support efficient workflow within a busy cytology department

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of cytology screening experience (GYN, Non‑GYN, and FNA)
• ThinPrep Certification – required
• Bachelor of Science with ASCP Registry and/or Certified Cytology School Degree – required
• Familiarity with the Bethesda System for cytology reporting
• Strong microscopy skills and ability to work independently with high accuracy
