Unit: 1 Central (1C) – Vascular & Cardiac Telemetry/PCU
Contract Duration: July 19, 2026 – October 17, 2026
Shift: Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

Position Overview
Summa Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a specialized Vascular and Cardiac Telemetry Unit that functions similarly to a Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This fast-paced unit cares for patients requiring advanced cardiac monitoring, post-cardiac catheterization care, and vascular surgical recovery.
The ideal candidate will possess strong PCU/Telemetry experience with a background in cardiac and vascular patient populations and be comfortable floating to other appropriate units as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to vascular and cardiac telemetry patients.
- Monitor and manage patients requiring continuous cardiac telemetry.
- Deliver pre- and post-procedure care for cardiac catheterization patients.
- Care for post-operative vascular surgery patients.
- Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications and manage cardiac drips as appropriate.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation utilizing Epic EMR.
- Float to other units based on patient care needs and staffing requirements.
Unit Details
- Specialized Vascular & Cardiac Telemetry Unit (PCU-level acuity)
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: Typically 1:4; may increase to 1:5 based on census
- Sheath pulling experience highly preferred but not required
- Fast-paced, high-acuity patient care environment
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Minimum 2 years of recent PCU/Telemetry nursing experience
- Recent experience with:
- Pre- and post-cardiac catheterization care
- Vascular surgery patient management
- Current BLS Certification
- Current ACLS Certification
- Current NIH Stroke Scale Certification
- Experience with Epic EMR within the past 12 months (must be clearly listed on resume)
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN or CCNE accredited)
- Willingness to float as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Sheath pulling experience
- Strong cardiac monitoring and telemetry interpretation skills
- Experience caring for high-acuity cardiac and vascular patients

- RTO must be submitted at the time of submission
- Maximum of 7 days RTO accepted
- No RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
- Block scheduling requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and must be disclosed at submission
