Position:Registered Nurse – Psych/Behavioral Health

Location: Fort Defiance, AZ

Job Type: 13 Weeks Contract + Possible Extensions

Shift: Nights - 12 hour shift, 3 shifts a week

Expected Hours: 36 Hours per Week

Job Overview:
The Inpatient Behavioral Health Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals experiencing mental health, emotional, behavioral, and substance use disorders. The RN works as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess, monitor, and support patients while promoting safety, recovery, and overall well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for behavioral health patients.
• Monitor patients' mental and physical health status and document changes in condition.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
• Conduct patient assessments, including suicide risk, behavioral, and safety evaluations.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
• Maintain a safe therapeutic environment and intervene appropriately during behavioral crises.

Required Qualifications:

• Active AZ or Compact RN License
• Active Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), or Crisis Prevention (CPI), or MANDT, or TEAM required.
• BLS Certification (AHA)

• 2 years of Behavioral Health, Psychiatric, Mental Health, or related nursing experience
