Description
Overview
We’re hiring a Pathology Assistant to support a high-volume Surgical Pathology Gross Room. This is an on-site, contract opportunity focused on the gross examination and preparation of complex surgical specimens.
Schedule & Hours
- Day shift: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- 40 hours/week
- Approx. 13-week contract
Key Responsibilities
- Perform gross examination of complex surgical specimens, including dissection, description, and tissue sectioning for histologic preparation
- Complete specimen photography and radiography as needed
Required Qualifications
- Pathology Assistant certification (ASCP or an approved certifying agency)
- Prior hospital experience (required)
Education Requirements (one of the following)
- Graduate of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant program and ASCP BOR certified, OR
- Bachelor’s degree with a major/minor (or equivalent) in biological or allied health sciences
