Job Title: Registered Nurse
Unit: Med/Surg - Oncology
Location: Denver, CO 80218
Shift: Night
Shift Length: 12 hours
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Duration: 13 weeks
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced RN – Med/Surg Oncology Nurse with 2+ years of acute care experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience caring for oncology patients and must possess an active Chemotherapy Certification along with a current CO RN license. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care, administering oncology treatments, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest quality outcomes for patients.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to oncology patients, including assessment, monitoring, and management of treatment-related side effects.
- Administer chemotherapy, medications, blood products, and IV therapies in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
- Monitor patient responses to treatment and promptly report any changes in condition to the healthcare team.
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, chemotherapy precautions, symptom management, and discharge instructions.
