Description
Respiratory Therapist – Cardiopulmonary (Contract)
Location: Carbondale, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights
Hours per Week: 36
Job Summary
- Provide respiratory care as ordered by physicians, maintaining communication with medical and nursing staff.
- Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care plans within a multidisciplinary team.
- Educate patients and/or responsible persons about respiratory disease processes, interventions, and discharge instructions.
- Accept reassignment to other units as needed.
- Share clinical knowledge with staff and students, serving as a clinical practice role model.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the effectiveness of respiratory care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in Illinois
- Associate’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Additional Information
- Prior travel experience is required.
