Beds: 32 Total
- 12 Stepdown Beds
- 20 Med-Surg/Floor Beds

Nurse-to-Patient Ratios

Stepdown: 1:3
Med-Surg/Floor: 1:4–6

BLS

Common Patient Population

Chest Pain
COPD
Altered Mental Status (AMS)
Pneumonia
UTI
Abdominal Pain
Medical/Surgical overflow patients
Hospice/GIP Hospice patients

Telemetry & Monitoring

Telemetry unit
Monitor Techs available
RNs must be able to:
- Read telemetry strips
- Interpret rhythms alongside monitor technicians

Drips

Stepdown patients may receive various drips
Floor patients commonly receive:
- Heparin
- PCA pumps
Additional titratable drips not specified

Support Staff

Free Charge Nurse budgeted for the unit
House Supervisor available 24/7
Typically staffed with 4 Nurse Aides when fully staffed

Respiratory Support

RT manages respiratory equipment

- Any Stepdown unit

Dress Code

Royal Blue Scrubs

Candidate Fit Best suited for RNs with: Strong Med-Surg background Telemetry experience Stepdown experience preferred Ability to read and interpret cardiac rhythms Flexibility to float throughout the hospital Not a high-acuity ICU unit, but candidates should be comfortable managing both Med-Surg and Stepdown patients with varying levels of complexity
