Job Title: Travel CVICU Registered Nurse – Night Shift (Fresh Open-Heart Recovery)
Job Description: Are you an elite Cardiac ICU nurse looking to make an impact on a developing program? Malone Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled CVICU Registered Nurse for an exclusive 13-week travel assignment at Reston Hospital Center in Northern Virginia (just outside Washington, D.C.).
This specialized 4-bed unit is anchoring a brand-new cardiac surgery program launch. Utilizing a total-care Primary Nursing model, you will directly recover fresh open-heart patients using top-tier, modern hemodynamic technology.
Position Highlights:
- Location: Reston, VA (Coastal/Northern Virginia area)
- Facility: Reston Hospital Center
- Specialty: Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) RN
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights (36 hours weekly)
- Schedule: 3 weekend shifts required per 4-week block
- Target Start Date: 07/27/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
Unit Dynamics & Care Ratios:
- Unit Size: Focused 4-bed specialized cardiovascular environment.
- Ratios: 1:1 for immediate fresh post-surgical recoveries; 1:2 for Post-Op Days 1–3.
- Model: Total patient care via Primary Nursing.
- EMR: Meditech Expanse.
Position Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of dedicated, recent experience with fresh cardiac surgery patients featuring direct primary recovery history.
- Advanced Skills Required: Verified training and independent competence with Balloon Pumps (IABP), Impella, and Hemosphere or Acumen monitoring platforms.
- Certifications: Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS are mandatory.
- Licensure: Active Virginia or Compact RN license in hand.
