Pride Health is hiring a Vascular Ultrasound Technologist client in the medical facility. This is a temporary assignment opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Schedule:  8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Location:  Houston, TX
Job Type: Contract
Contract Length: 3 months (possibility of extension)

*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.  
 
Key Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic sonography according to policies, procedures and protocols of the KSC radiology department. Understands and applies technical principles affecting optimal production of sonographic images, as well as anatomical orientations and anomalies affecting final product. Understands age related communication needs of patients and is able to effectively convey instructions to patients to facilitate the performance of sonographic studies
• Participates in Technical Quality Control measures, which include performance of routine equipment maintenance and reporting malfunctions or variances in equipment performance to the Radiology Department Supervisor or his/her designee in the supervisor’s absence. Maintains necessary supplies and documentation of cleaning logs as applicable.
• Uses RIS system correctly, according to Clinic and Department guidelines and properly documents, for the radiologist’s review, atypical conditions, which could affect image quality and/or content. Understands PACS system and can identify problems with image transmission as they occur and notify Radiology Supervisor or Department Lead Tech when corrective actions are beyond the scope of the technologist.
• Interacts effectively with patients and coworkers, including staff assigned to other locations. Communicates readily and well with Supervisor, Lead Tech and Radiologists in giving and receiving feedback. Must have the ability to understand and respond to questions by giving factual information.
• Conscious of ultrasound safety measures. Utilizes sterile technique when necessary. Complies with all KSC safety initiatives

 
Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• RVT or RVS certification
• Current BCLS certification
