Description

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical

Location: Battle Creek, Michigan
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
  • Weekly hours: 36 or 48 hours available
  • Must be available for the first two weeks of orientation
  • Will float to other Medical Surgical units approximately once per week
  • Work every other weekend
  • Holiday coverage required; flexibility needed for holiday time off requests
  • No guaranteed block scheduling at this time
  • Staffing ratio: 1:5-6 on nights; may flex to 1:8 with LPN support
  • Unit: 37-bed Medical Surgical, Oncology unit caring for general medical patients and surgical specialties including gastrointestinal, urological, gynecological surgeries, ortho/neurovascular, cardio/pulmonary, mastectomies, hysterectomies
  • Must be willing to work with a variety of staff (RNs, LPNs, Techs, etc.)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
  • Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience within the last year
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
