Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Contract Opportunity
Location: Lawrence, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary
Provide Speech Language Pathology services to residents to maximize their function and independence in daily activities. Perform evaluations and therapeutic procedures related to communication disorders and dysphagia, including modified barium swallow studies. Collaborate with residents, caregivers, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and adjust therapeutic plans of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct evaluations and treatments for communication disorders and swallowing difficulties.
- Develop therapeutic plans with functional long- and short-term goals based on department protocols.
- Consult with physicians and healthcare team members regarding therapy and discharge needs.
- Monitor treatment progress and modify plans as necessary.
- Document all interactions and treatments clearly and accessibly.
- Recommend and instruct on the use of communication and swallowing assistive devices.
- Provide education to residents and caregivers, documenting responses.
- Maintain clinical knowledge and competence through professional development and sharing expertise.
- Assist in developing new speech therapy programs and services.
- Ensure department cleanliness and follow infection control procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Massachusetts
- Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Experience practicing as a Speech Language Pathologist within the last year
Physical and Working Conditions
- Ability to perform tasks involving sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; lifting above 50 pounds requires assistance.
- Frequent lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds.
- Position involves a high level of responsibility for quality care.
Additional Information
- No prior travel experience required.
- This is a full-time, 40-hour per week day shift contract.
