Travel RN – Labor & Delivery / Postpartum (LDRP)
Location: Charlotte, NC area (Region 2 Network)
Shift: 12-Hour Days (0700–1900) | 36 Hours/Week
Duration: 13 Weeks (6-week scheduling cycles)
Setting: Community Teaching Hospital (174 beds)

🏥 Unit Dynamics & Workload
Join a supportive, mid-volume, true LDRP unit that manages the full continuum of care from admission to discharge.
- Unit Layout: 18 LDRP beds, 5 OB Triage beds, 2 OB ORs.
- Volume: Steady 40–65 deliveries per month.
- Ratios: Strictly adheres to AWHONN Guidelines for patient safety.
- 24/7 In-House Support: Hospitalist/OB Physician, Pediatrician, RT, Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), and Lactation Consultants.
- Shift Support: 4–5 RNs on floor, a Charge Nurse with a reduced/triage assignment, and 1 CNA per shift.
🛠️ Required Skillset & Experience
We are seeking a versatile RN who can confidently manage all aspects of maternal-child health.
Clinical Expectations:
- L&D / Postpartum: Full continuum LDRP care, OB triage, and care for post-op GYN surgical patients.
- OR Skills: Ability to circulate C-sections in the unit's dedicated OB ORs.
- Newborn Care: Core infant care including heel sticks, 24-hour testing, NAS (Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome) scoring, and lactation support.
Technical Environment:
- EMR: EPIC
- IV Pumps: Alaris
- Med Dispensing: Omnicell
- Equipment: Phillips & Corometrics Fetal Monitors, Panda Warmers (Note: No remote tele monitoring).
📋 Job Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated LDRP experience.
- Certifications: Active RN License, BLS, ACLS, NRP, and EFM.
- Radius Rule: Permanent address must be 50+ miles away from the facility.
- Schedule: Every other weekend (EOW) rotation. Must work 75% of holidays falling within the contract.
- Flexible Regional Floating (Mandatory): Must be willing to float within scope to Region 2 facilities as needed (Pineville, Anson, Union, Union West, and Central Division/CMC Main/Mercy/Levine Children's). Do not apply if you are not agreeable to floating.
