Labor & Delivery RN – Travel Assignment (Night Shift)
Location: Texas (Level IV Maternal Center)
Shift: 3x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 36 hours/week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: 07/13/2026 (ASAP)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity, Level IV maternal center providing care for complex obstetric patients. The RN will support patients through labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe outcomes for mother and baby.
This is a fast-paced, high-volume unit with strong leadership support and a highly collaborative team environment.
Unit Highlights
- Level IV Maternal Center (highest acuity obstetric care)
- 22-bed L&D unit (16 labor beds)
- Approx. 100 staff members
- Patient ratio: 1:1 or 1:2
- EMR systems: CPN and Meditech
- Strong leadership support, including hands-on management
- Recently recognized as a top maternity hospital (Newsweek award)
- Ongoing facility renovations and modernization
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for high-risk obstetric patients
- Manage labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery
- Assist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries
- Support procedures such as C-sections, D&C, cerclage placement/removal, and high-risk cases
- Monitor maternal and fetal status
- Collaborate with physicians and surgical teams
- Provide patient education and emotional support
Required Qualifications
- Active RN License (State or Compact)
- BLS Certification
- Minimum experience in Labor & Delivery
- Experience with high-risk obstetric patients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Circulating OR and triage experience
- 5+ years L&D experience preferred
- Experience with Meditech or CPN EMR
Additional Details
- No on-call requirement
- Weekend shifts: 4 per schedule
- Must be able to adapt quickly and work in a team-oriented environment
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Strong communication and multitasking skills essential
