Description

Experience Required:

Minimum 3+ years of recent acute care Operating Room (OR) experience
Strong experience with aseptic/sterile technique
Robotics and Vascular surgery experience required
Trauma surgery experience preferred
Must be competent across multiple surgical specialties

Certifications Required:

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA)
BLS (AHA) required

Education Required:

High School Diploma/GED
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program (CAAHEP or ABHES)

Core Responsibilities:

Prepare and maintain sterile surgical field
Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, retracting, suctioning, cutting sutures, and handling specimens
Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts
Assist with patient positioning, draping, and surgical preparation
Support robotic and endoscopic procedures
Ensure compliance with Time-Out and patient safety protocols
Assist with post-procedure cleanup, instrument processing, and patient transport
