Job Title: Travel Cardiovascular PCU / Stepdown RN – Nights (Cardiac Center of Excellence)

Job Description: Are you an energetic, highly skilled Progressive Care Nurse looking to elevate your clinical resume? Malone Healthcare is fast-tracking submissions for a 13-week travel assignment on the SRG Cardio PCU (5th Floor Northwest Tower) at HCA HealthONE Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado.

HCA HealthONE Swedish is a nationally recognized Cardiac Center of Excellence. This dynamic, 30-bed high-acuity stepdown unit specializes in the comprehensive pre- and post-operative care of open-heart, thoracic, and vascular surgical patients. Position Highlights:

  • Location: Englewood, CO (Denver Metro Area)
  • Facility: HCA HealthONE Swedish Medical Center
  • Specialty: Cardiovascular Progressive Care Unit (CVPCU) / Stepdown RN
  • Shift: 12-Hour Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Hours: 36 hours per week guaranteed
  • Duration: 13 weeks

Unit Dynamics & Technical Ecosystem:

  • Ratios: Target 1:4 (Nights can scale up to 1:5 based on unit volume and acuity grids).
  • Patient Population: Primary post-op recovery for CABGs, MVR/AVR valves, Aortic Dissection repairs, TAVRs, Watchman implants, ablations, and thoracic lung resections (VATs/RATs).
  • Advanced Equipment: Epicardial pacer wires, chest tubes, TR bands, BiPAP, and Heated High-Flow nasal cannulas.
  • EMR: Meditech.

Position Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent, continuous acute care PCU/Stepdown experience inside a hospital setting.
  • Licensure: Active Colorado or Compact RN license in hand.
  • Certifications: Active AHA BLS and AHA ACLS are mandatory.
  • Clinical Comfort: Must be comfortable managing complex post-cath care, performing regular neurovascular checks, and working within a fast-paced primary nursing framework supported by unit PCTs.

Preferred Skillset:

  • Proven independence in titrating specialized cardiac drips (Dobutamine, Milrinone, Amiodarone, Cardizem).
  • Prior hands-on experience with chest tube removal, epicardial wire management, and Meditech electronic documentation.
