🩺 Position Overview

Cone Health is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN to join their dynamic team in Greensboro, NC. This role offers the opportunity to treat a wide range of acute conditions in a busy, high-acuity ED with access to advanced resources and full clinical support.

You’ll be working in a collaborative environment caring for adult patients with everything from trauma cases to cardiac and stroke emergencies.

 

⏰ Schedule Details

  • Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
  • Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts
  • Weekend Requirement:
    • 2 weekend shifts OR 4 weekend days every 6 weeks
  • Call: None ✅

 

✅ Requirements

  • Experience: 2+ years Emergency Department RN experience
  • Travel Experience: Not required (first-time travelers accepted!)
  • Certifications Required:
    • BLS
    • ACLS
    • NIHSS
  • Preferred Certifications:
    • PALS
    • TNCC
    • CPI
  • EMR: Epic (required)

  • IV therapy, central line management & blood administration

  • Unit Type: Adult Emergency Department
  • Facility Type: Stroke, Cardiac & Level II Trauma Center
  • Daily Volume: ~180 patients
  • Beds/Rooms: 63
  • Patient Ratio: 1:4–5

  • 24/7 Respiratory Therapy support (ABGs/BiPAP)
  • Dedicated teams:
    • IV Team
    • Pharmacy
    • Radiology
    • Social Services
    • Transport & Unit Secretary
  • Pediatric ED is separate (focus on adults)

 

📚 Orientation & Expectations

  • 24 hours orientation
  • Must pass EKG exam (Pass/Fail required)
  • Compliance deadline: Wednesday before start (12 PM EST)
  • Self-scheduling available

  • No local candidates within 50 miles (DL required for verification)
  • COVID & Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
  • Zero tolerance for tardiness/attendance issues
  • Maximum 2 RTO requests (must be pre-approved)
