Occupational Therapist (Outpatient OT) - Monterey, CA

Job Details

Location: Monterey, California
Setting: Outpatient rehabilitation clinic
Contract Length: 26 weeks (approximately 6 months)
Shift: Day shift, 8-hour shifts (8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with 30-minute lunch)
Hours per Week: 40 hours
Patient Population: Adults undergoing total joint replacements, complex spine cases, urology, gynecology, and general surgery
Work Environment: Fast-paced, working alongside a registered nurse and nurse’s aide
Facility Notes:
- 5 treatment bays and 3 private rooms
- 2 rehab aides available
- Business attire with lab coat required (no scrubs)
- No weekend or holiday requirements for outpatient travelers
- Floor-specific orientation provided (1 day)
- Ability to work independently immediately is expected
Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Epic

Job Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive history and physical assessments for patients undergoing elective surgery with anesthesia focus (functional status, cardiac, respiratory)
Conduct comprehensive medication reconciliation
Provide neuro and orthopedic rehabilitation services
Work under the anesthesiologist in the Perioperative Clinic (pre-procedure testing)

Required Qualifications

Valid Occupational Therapist license in California
Minimum of 2 years of Occupational Therapist experience
Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association

Additional Information

No weekend or holiday shifts required
Cancellation policy varies with contract length; 26-week contracts have double cancellation policy
Interview availability and return-to-office (RTO) requirements must be submitted with application
No floating assignments

Specialty Experience

Experience in outpatient occupational therapy with neuro and orthopedic rehab patients preferred
