Description
Make a lasting difference in the lives of students preparing for life beyond the classroom! Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated School Social Worker to support students in a special education transition program in the Howell, MI area for the 2026–2027 school year.
Position Overview:
- Provide social work services and individualized support to students participating in a transition program designed to promote success in employment, postsecondary education, and independent living.
- Conduct assessments, develop goals, and implement interventions that address students' social, emotional, behavioral, and transition-related needs.
- Collaborate with students, families, educators, community agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate services and support successful transition outcomes.
- Maintain accurate documentation, participate in planning meetings, and ensure compliance with applicable special education and transition services requirements.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW)
- Valid Michigan Social Worker License
- Active Michigan DOE School Social Worker Certification
- Experience working with adolescents or young adults with disabilities, particularly in transition planning, special education, or related settings (Preferred)
