Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location: Ottumwa, Iowa
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

• Provide nursing care in the Emergency Department (ED) primarily serving adult and geriatric patients.
• Work a 12-hour night shift (7 PM – 7 AM) with a weekly guarantee of 36 or 48 hours.
• Call coverage required 24/7 to support daily volume and emergencies.
• Patient ratio approximately 1:6 with about 40 patient visits per day.
• Utilize MediTech electronic health record system.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Iowa
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
• Experience in an Acute Care setting
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Certifications: BLS issued by the American Heart Association, ACLS, TNCC, PALS, and CPI

Preferred Experience

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
• Experience in similar-sized facilities.

Unit & Facility Information

• Emergency Department with 17 beds.
• Patient population mainly adults and geriatrics.
• Facility offers a variety of services including ED, Critical Care, Med/Surg, Acute Rehab, OB, Pediatrics, Cath Lab, Diagnostics, Radiology, Wound Care, Pain Clinic, Sleep Lab, and Pathology.
• Located in a small river town with low cost of living and outdoor recreational opportunities.
