  • Unit: Cardiac Medical Telemetry
  • Beds: 43 | Census: ~42
  • Patient Ratio: 1:6–7
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Scheduling: Self-scheduling (unit needs based)
  • Scrubs: Navy (not provided)

 

🫀 Patient Population & Cases

  • Adult Cardiac Patients
  • Common Diagnoses:
    • Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
    • Arrhythmias
    • Pre/Post Cardiac Cath
    • Pacemaker / ICD Implantations

 

⚙️ Procedures & Skills

  • Cardiac monitoring & telemetry interpretation
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation & management
  • Cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dopamine, Milrinone, etc.)
  • Titration of cardiac drips (Diltiazem, Amiodarone required)
  • Sheath pulls, TR Bands, Femstop
  • Pre/Post cardiac cath & surgery care
  • Central lines, PICC lines, port access
  • Blood product administration

 

👥 Interdisciplinary Support

Physical Therapy • Respiratory • Radiology • Pharmacy • Social Services • Rapid Response Team • Phlebotomy • Unit Secretary

 

🔧 Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care in a Cardiac Telemetry setting
  • Continuous cardiac monitoring & rapid response to changes
  • Manage complex cardiac patients and drips
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Float as needed (potential to float every shift)

 

✅ Requirements

Must-Have:

  • 2+ years Cardiac Tele / Stepdown experience
  • Strong cardiac background (REQUIRED)
  • Experience with Telemetry + PCU/IMC/Stepdown
  • ACLS & BLS Certifications from AHA
  • Experience with cardiac drips & dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Pre/Post cardiac cath & sheath removal experience

Preferred:

  • NIHSS Certification
  • Charge experience

 

📋 Important Policies

  • RTO: Max 7 days (must be submitted upfront for auto-offer)
  • RTO after booking NOT allowed
  • Floating: Required (can be every shift)
  • Weekend Requirement: 5–6 shifts per 6-week schedule (every other weekend)
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
  • Orientation: 24 hours

  • EKG Testing required prior to start
  • Manager interview required before final offer
  • Strict call-off policy (strongly enforced)
  • First-time travelers accepted
