Travel ICU RN Opportunity – South Charleston, WV
Facility: WVU Thomas Health – Thomas Memorial Hospital
Location: South Charleston, West Virginia
Start Date: 6/29 or End of Month
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Available Schedules
36 Hours/Week
- Pay Rate: $28/hr
- OT Rate: $55/hr
- Weekly Stipend: $1,246
- Estimated Weekly Gross: $2,254
48 Hours/Week
- Pay Rate: $32/hr
- OT Rate: $51/hr
- Weekly Stipend: $1,246
- Estimated Weekly Gross: $2,934
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
- Travel experience required
- Active RN license
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
Preferred Certifications
- PALS
- NIHSS
- TNCC
Shift Options
- Days: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
- Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- Manager creates the schedule
- Block scheduling available, especially for night shift
Weekend & Holiday Requirements
- Every other weekend (Fri-Sat or Sat-Mon)
- Rotating holidays with core staff
Unit Details
- 18-bed ICU
- Typical ratio: 1:2 (occasionally 1:3)
- EPIC charting
Patient Population & Skills Required
- Sepsis
- Acute MI
- Renal patients
- Stroke/TIA
- Seizures
- ARDS
- Ventilator management
- Post-vascular procedures
- Lumbar drains
- Critical drip titration
Common Drips
- Levophed
- Cardizem
- Amiodarone
- Heparin
- Insulin
Preferred Experience
- CRRT
- IABP
- Impella
Floating
- Required to float to Stepdown as needed
- May float to Med-Surg/Telemetry or care for ICU/Stepdown patients boarding in the ED
- Travelers float in rotation
Orientation
- Hospital orientation
- Nursing orientation
- Computer training
- Two 12-hour shifts with a preceptor
