Travel RN – Med Surg/Telemetry (Med Surg Tele RN) 
 

Position Summary:
The Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic medical conditions requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. The RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care while collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess, monitor, and care for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and telemetry-related conditions.
• Interpret and monitor cardiac rhythms and promptly identify and respond to rhythm changes or patient deterioration.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments according to physician orders and hospital policies.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Develop and update individualized patient care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, discharge instructions, and disease management.
• Monitor vital signs, laboratory results, telemetry strips, and patient responses to treatment.
• Respond to emergencies, rapid response events, and code situations as needed.
• Maintain infection control and patient safety standards.
