Job Summary

A specialized Perinatology/Maternal-Fetal Medicine clinic in southeastern Massachusetts is seeking a highly skilled OB/GYN Sonographer for a 13-week day assignment. Working alongside perinatologists, genetic counselors, and high-risk obstetricians, the sonographer will perform detailed, high-resolution diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients with complex maternal, fetal, or placental conditions. This role demands mastery of fetal anomalies, Doppler velocimetry, and advanced anatomical surveys.

Key Responsibilities

  • Level II Detailed Fetal Anatomical Surveys: Perform targeted, high-resolution ultrasound evaluations to identify structural fetal anomalies, genetic markers, and complex syndromic presentations.
  • Fetal Echocardiography & Neurosonography: Execute specialized cardiac outflow tract imaging and multi-planar intracranial tracking for fetuses at elevated risk for structural defects.
  • Doppler Velocimetry: Conduct advanced Doppler assessments—including umbilical artery, middle cerebral artery ($MCA$), and ductus venosus flow dynamics—to evaluate fetal well-being in cases of severe intrauterine growth restriction ($IUGR$).
  • Biophysical Profiles ($BPP$): Reliably score fetal breathing, gross body movements, tone, and amniotic fluid index ($AFI$) to assist in determining delivery timing for high-risk patients.
  • Multi-Gestation Management: Perform complex serial scanning for multi-fetal gestations, monitoring closely for complications such as Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome ($TTTS$).

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Technical Mastery: Superior skill in operating high-end ultrasound systems, optimizing gray-scale, color, and spectral Doppler parameters for technically challenging patient habitus.
  • Documentation Standards: Provide highly accurate, objective worksheets mapping all measurements, anatomical checklists, and initial findings to the reading perinatologist.
