Description
RN – Emergency Department (ED)
Facility Overview
- 207 licensed beds
- Chest Pain Center
- Stroke Center
- Non-Trauma Facility
- Non-Teaching Hospital
- Traveler's permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the assigned home unit
Position Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required
- First-time travelers accepted
Patient Population
Common ED presentations include:
- Stroke
- Congestive Heart Failure (CHF)
- Electrolyte Imbalances
- Arrhythmias
- Respiratory Arrest
- Sepsis
- COPD Exacerbations
- Falls
- Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVAs)
- Other emergency and critical care conditions
Staffing Ratios
- RN: 1:3–4
- CNA: 1:8–10
Required Certifications
- Active RN License
- BLS
- ACLS
- PALS
- NIHSS
- CPI
Preferred Certification
- TNCC

- Cardiac rhythm interpretation

- Must be willing to float within the assigned regional network and affiliated emergency departments
- Floating will occur within scope of practice
- Travelers will remain on the clock and be compensated for travel time between facilities during shifts
- Candidates unwilling to float should not be submitted

- New Employee Orientation (NEO)

Schedule Information
Shift
- 12-Hour Nights
- 36 Hours/Week
Shift Time
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Weekend Requirement
- Every Other Weekend (EOW)
Call Requirements
- No Call
- No Call Back Requirements
Holiday Requirement
- Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays
Time Off (RTO)
- Up to 6 days may be approved (excluding holidays)
- Missed contracted hours may need to be added to the end of the assignment
